Rebecca Driscoll
I have the best job in the world. I bring stories to life for children. I chose this profession at the tender age of seven, when I had my very first art show. It was so much fun creating the pieces and displaying them for my friends and family, that I was inspired. After that, there was no stopping me. I had to draw, and I used my art to tell stories.
I have been illustrating professionally for over 26 years and have done numerous designs for various companies. You can find some of my work at Gallant Greetings, Sparrow and Jacobs, and Paperpotamus. I have done countless designs for various rubberstamp companies. It’s fun to know that people are enjoying your work, and use it to create something of their own. I designed t-shirts for “Life Zone”, a company that helped wild animals, and I’ve produced illustrations for magazines such as Dog and Kennel, Bird Talk and Parrot Quarterly.
My love of nature has a lot of influence on my art. I love illustrating animals, and I believe that they shine from within. I also enjoy designing flowers in my work; it gives my paintings a happy feeling.
My color illustrations are produced using watercolor with watercolor pencil. My watercolor illustrations are done in a warm, colorful style, which appeals to children. I also like to work in pen and ink, as I enjoy doing lots of detail, and this medium allows me to have fun with it. I am always in search of new mediums, but traditional painting is still my favorite.
