An award-winning graphic illustrator by day and picture book creator by night, a characterization approach dominates my work. After working 20 years as a graphic illustrator and print designer crafting promotional and collateral material I now focus on picture book illustrations that elicit fond memories of the past and promise of the future for both young viewers and young at heart readers.

Pen and ink define my characters and water colors bring them to life creating lively illustrations full of personality and mischief. They dance, hop and meander across the illustrated page. The innocence and honesty of my characters can turn a frown upside down.

Some people say that characters in a book have a life of their own, and they almost write their own story. This must be true as my characters are evolving in exciting and unexpected new ways. They are jumping off the page and into a wonderful, wide array of craft projects, fabric sculptures and children’s room decor. I awake each day anxious to see what new adventures they will suggest and in what new directions they will take me. Like Walt Disney I love creating new worlds and friends.
